Verbena

A particular look at the way we celebrate, its myths, its beliefs and its traditions

If we start from the fact that stories serve to tell how a community is organized, proposing alternative histories to the one we already have, can help us to create other references where the giants should not necessarily be the most powerful or the big-headed people of the lower middle class. ‘Verbena’ proposes stories that go beyond the labels and that allow the integration and plurality of forms. It does this through small dances, crossed by scenic fallacies, where everyday situations occur that speak of what lies between people.

About the company

The Lamajara Collective was born in 2013 to unite dancers and artists from other disciplines in the search for a new body language. His career is marked by reflection on the territory and its connection with the land, the city and common spaces. Among his pieces are titles such as ‘Labranza’. With ‘Dispositivo Labranza’ and ‘Labranza Kids’, the project was adapted for adults and for children respectively, seeking to bring them closer to the rural imaginary and inviting them to get to know the creative process of a dance show from the inside.
