Theatrical activity for schoolchildren is a significant part of the performing arts sector and, at the same time, a strategic activity in the context of deepening the intersection between culture and education. From the perspective of cultural rights, it ensures the fair and universal distribution of an essential asset to all children and young people. For this reason, the present study holds a dual significance, both social and sectoral.
The report delves into the characterization of the sector and the performing arts activity for schoolchildren in Catalonia. It does so by examining both theatre companies and programming agents, combining primary and secondary sources of information.
The ultimate goal is to generate knowledge that serves as a common starting point for dialogue and reflection within the sector, as well as for designing actions that contribute to the development and consolidation of performing arts for schoolchildren.
